Unwanted startup App

I'm not sure if im posting this in the right forum so if im not, excuse me.

I recently had a friend reformat my laptop and since then, whenever i start up my computer, a window's movie player folder opens and it is quite annoying. If anyone can help me disable this folder from opening upon starting my computer, i would be much appreciative.

Have a look in your startup apps, see if there is something there making it open.

Start >> Run >> Type: "msconfig" (no quotes)

Go to the startup tab. This lists all the programs that start up with your PC. Look through there for anything that may cause it.

You can look in Start >All Programs >startup and see if the Windows media Player is listed and de-list it.

You can use Start, Run, Msconfig and see if it is listed there under startup and uncheck it.

You can look in the registry under HKLM, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version, Run or Runonce and see if its' there and delete that key.

If it isn't, then it is probably a trojan.bug thingy and you should pm Howard.

:)
