Hey all

I'm new to this site and now nothing aout computers - I could really use some help. I have an old Compaq Deskpro within which I recently installed a USB 2.0 card (it didn't have one). The problem is that any device I plug into the new card (iPod, GPS unit and more) causes the computer to reboot. I have no idea what is going on. I have just loaded some software for my GPS system which reboots the computer when I open it without anything plugged into the USB 2.0.

Any ideas ??

get the most recent patch for that gps software and apply it. or else you might as well uninstall it as you said that it is causing your machine to reboot regardless of the external device's conenction. it also would be wise to apply the latest drivers for your chipset and usb card. how old/what kind of computer are we talking about here?
