Pls help me with this one.

I can't install my hp d2560 printer on my pc

everytime I plug the printer to the pc a message always says

"usb device not recognized" I tried installing the printer to another pc

and it was installed with no problems..

I thought the problem was the usb ports but my motherboard

is brand new, it's an ecs g31t-m board

I tried reinstalling the OS im using XP home edition

still I get the same error message pls help me

both

two in the front and four on the back

i tried plugging the printer on all slots the same message appears

all other usb devices are recognized by my pc except for the printer

Give these a shot...

1) Make sure you have all critical AND hardware optional updates installed (you need to be clicking on Custom when you do updates) See [post=744411]USB Device Problems? Check for Windows Updates[/post] (i.e. lots of USB fixes have been released. Even tho the linked post talks about USB disk.. be sure your installation is up to date)

2) Disconnect all other USB devices before you connect the printer. And try (in this order)
> Start with printer powered off. Then attach the USB cable to the computer and then power on the printer

3) Try using a different USB cable (and the shortest cable you might have available)

4) Shutdown your computer. Disconnect all your USB devices. PHYSICALLY unplug your computer from the wall for a couple minutes then plug in and power up. Once running try step 2 again

I already did all those things

still no positive results

I already downloaded the newest drivers for my board

I'm still clueless with what's wrong with my pc

One more thing: See [post=751005]How to Reinstall Your USB Controllers and Motherboard Chipset Drivers[/post] (and note the order is important)
