Hello Community:

VF stuck me with a (noisy, screeching) Desktop Popup:

'Attention! Found Virus Threats: W32/Bagle.B@mm. Click here for details'

Tried many removal products. I need the best and most specific for this threat.

Submitting HJT log:

THANX

i haven't finished looking through the log yet but rename hijack this to Analyzer.exe because things can hide from the default name :) also post a new log and attach it to the thread instead of copy and pasting it, it makes the thread tidier :) thanks

looks like howard got there before i posted :D i expect a reply from him will pop up soon

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your system is infected with a variety of malware.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Regards Howard

This thread is for the use of schonhoff50 only. Please don`t post your own virus/spyware problems in this thread. Instead, open a new thread in our security and the web forum.

Persistent Malware Infection

Hello Techspot Community:

I've been working on this problem for a week now. Current problems: Windows Firewall goes from on to off on reboot. and i cannot enable it. Sez 'Due to an unidentified problem Windows cannot display WF settings'
I can not reinstall Java Runtime because missing file: bin\java.exe.
Annoying popup: Attention! Found virus threats: W32/Bagle.B@mm
Extremely slow web page loading (probably because JRE not present? Wild guess)
Background Tab in Desktop Display Properties Disabled.
On closing XP a popup sez "Cannot _____pipmon.exe. Dll failed to initialize?

Ran Disinfecting Software.
Put up Firewall. (How many firewalls do I need?).
Ran Spybot, CCleaner. Immunized via SpyBot.
Ran a lot of Fix-It 7 Utilities.

Attaching latest HJT log.
Help me b4 i start pulling out what little hair i have. thanx
