Really? I don't use the resident stuff, but I find the immunization function rather useful -- and not exactly a hassle to use, given the way it works. I run it once a month or so just to block out known nasty sites.
Admittedly, over the last two or three years I've been trusting MSE more and more to handle the malware defenses, and it certainly does all the real-time protection.
