Vista Upgrade

I want to get vista, but i dont know much about it. And if I get vista do i have to lose every thing on my hard drive? I noticed how there is a upgrade and a OEM. Does the OEM erase the hard drive and start new? I was looking at newegg and i noticed it was only 94$ is that the real thing because i dont remember it being so cheap.

Also does vista sp1 run good or is there any problems still?

OEM is a system builder liscense with limited support.If you buy retail or upgrade, and you have windows xp, then you can upgrade your OS and keep all your data, OEM must do a fresh install. OEM can't upgrade and is limited to 1 computer and is cheaper, but a retail lisence can be transferd.
