I have in front of me a compaq presario C700 n/book
intel celeron cpu 540 @ 1.86ghz
The lady whom owns it ask if I could restore it to factory for her and I did so by the normal F8 follow the prompts. Nothing seemed out of order at this point.
After completion of the reset it wanted to resart as per normal but it only goes as far as letting me have short access to the F keys before going to a black screen and just hanging there.
Any ideas as to what may of happend ?
PS the restore option was to a factory image.

How old is the Presario? How much memory is installed?
Have you tried a second time to perform the restore? Have you attempted to remove the partition and start over?

Thank you for your reply, I have resolved the issue so please close this thread.
