Want to donate old Win 98 laptop and wipe hard drive prior

Hello, and thanks in advance for your help!

I am donating my old IBM ThinkPad 600 Type 2645 to a senior citizen care facility. The OS is Windows 98.

I would greatly appreciate any instructions on how I can best wipe my hard drive. I am concerned about wiping the Word documents, Outlook Express files, and Outlook files. I also need to remove my Windows log in, which pops up at start-up.

Thanks again for your time and expertise.

1.Grab usb thumb drive, format the the thumb into fat32, once ready put it inside the usb port.
2.Locate all of your files you want gone from my documents, select all, cut, open the flash drive folder and paste it.
3.Give this a good read before you start, it should get done what you need it to.

4.Looking at your ibm computer specs, its an old dog that needs to be put to sleep.
I suggest you not donate it, as it will not be put to good use, especially with elderly people who just can't figure out computers.

Best of luck.
