I was wondering how many of you have dealt with the raptor drive and is it worth all the money and the hype. I am currently running a WD 2500ks with a 16 mb buffer and it seems pretty fast in windows but wondered if I would see a remarkable difference in speed by adding a raptor with it as the main drive for apps and programs. By the way my cpu is an E4300 C2duo. I had also thought about doing a raid 0 array with 2 of the wd 2500ks's if that would get better performance.

I've used RAID0 but not a 10krpm drive, you can definitely feel the improvement. It isn't like "wow this is amazing" improvement, but its still an improvement.

I've used 5400rpm drives, they still make externals with them, and they are very sluggish compared to standard 7200s. I'd venture to say 5400>7200 ~ 7200>10,000 in terms of performance.
