Webroot and Windows 8 password problem

I installed Webroot on my new Windows 8 laptop and it resulted in a shut out. I went through the password change twice from the original password, and then refreshed, eliminated Webroot, and it is working - sort of. It only recognizes my original password and insists on asking for it even though I went into the system and tried to take off the need for it. That is not the major problem. I am unable to get into many of my apps because it says I changed my password too many times and am now suspect. What now?
