Potential fix for 1 million banned Xbox 360's has arrived A fix appears to have arrived, according to some of the forums, but it is rather complex and requires access to either an Xbox 360 you know the CPU key of, or did not update over the summer. DailyTech

Yea regarding the 360 ban, wit you are doing is tricking ms into thinking your xbox is a different one. Its like software cd keys, if u pirate lets say windows 7 and u use a cd key provided in the torrents description. Pretty quick that cd key is gonna get blocked by microsoft and you won't be able to get updates from windows anymore. This live fix is like that, so if 2 xbox consoles with the same 'cd' key are online at the same time, well then its gonna get both consoles banned. If u can get the key from a broken console, there are many around just look on ebay, then maybe this could work for u. BUT whatever u do, don't put your cpu key on the internet or to anyone for that matter as u will most likely get your console banned as well. U have been warned!

MS obviously has a bone to pick with people who modify their XBox's so they can play pirated games. They had no problem whatsoever cutting off 1 million accounts. They'd do it again in a heartbeat.

So you have a decision to make - you going to continue to play cat and mouse with MS until you piss them off enough where they completely disable your account (or even your Xbox) or just play it straight and go by the damn games?

So..now all modders are thieves whether or not they have actually stole anything? You do realize that some modders like that challenge of seeing what they can get their equipment to do other than for what it is intended right? Some people use legitimate free software like Linux on their boxes. Sure this may void their warranty, but I hardly think this makes them thieves.

Give me a break darkshadoe - the one and only mod that MS is addressing is the one that allows you to play pirated game, that's it. There are other mods they could care less about like led lights, case lids, controller mods, etc.

You can play the "Oh - so now anyone who mods an xbox is a thief" game all you want. We all know what's really going on here.

It's very simple - you continue to try and mod your Xbox to play pirated games, sooner or later MS is going to catch up to you.

So by that logic then, we should call car enthusiests thieves because they change the computer chips in their vehicles to high performance chips to yield better gas mileage and performance?
