Weird wifi situation

You should log into that router, change the SSID, the Passphrase and the admin password - - if you don't, someone else will takeover the router.

Ok, I'll try to explain this. ALL other pc's/devices are on the MAIN router. Because as we know, wifi works great as long as pc/devices are on same floor. When it has to go thru one floor & multiple walls with potential metal in the way, that is/can be a problem which is why the landlord installed this 2nd one. It is a secured connection & nobody else has the SSID/password but me.
I could just as easily remove the label on it or use a black felt tip permanent marker so it cannot be seen. Is that ok?

Just so you know; the defaults for 99% of wifi routers can be found online, which allows anyone to attack that router by brute force. The sticker on the device is the least of your concerns as that requires physical access to the device.

Wired or wifi, the standard setup changes are always:
  1. change the admin password
  2. disable remote administration (usually disabling port 8080)
  3. change the SSID and the passphrase for it
and where possible, disable all SNMP, Port(s: 161, 162 (Trap).
Personally, I lower the MTU to 1492 to disable packet fragmentation.
