What is my Athlon XP Equivalent to?

i have an amd athlon xp 2600+ which has a clock speed of 2083GHz, and was wondering which pentium 4 it is equivalent to?

any help greatly appriciated!

Pentium 4 2.1 or faster, and also Celeron 2.1 or faster

really, cos i was always told that the number on the end. For instance 2600+ was equivalent to a pentium 4 2.6GHz. Also i thought the celeron even running at the same speed was not as powerful as the pentium!

Little bit faster than a Pentium 4 2.6Ghz with the Dhrystone on the Arithmetic test in Sandra and a little slower on the Whetstone. You should download the trial of SiSoft Sandra and run the CPU tests if you really want to see how it performs in benchmarks vs other CPUs.

With the Athlon XP series CPUs, the # refers to the intel equivelant in terms of clock speed. A 2600+ runs about 2.6ghz or faster.

This only applies to the older XP series chips. The newer athlons the # is only a model #.
