i need a new anti virus software, i am currently running Norton 360 but i don't think it is the best one on the market. does any one know of a better one? price is no obstacle but it must include a fire wall and all the other feature of Norton.

Thanks in advance

Edit : I'm running Windows XP home edition

I would vote for Avast, AVG, Nod32, Kaspersky, Sophos, Trend Micro (usually) and Computer Associates EZ Armor.
I have learned to distrust McAfee, Panda, and Symantec over the years. They seem more interested in high profits than good, reliable service.
What is more important than detection is customer service and support. That is the worst part of Symantec and McAfee. You need somebody who will tell you the truth.

I mostly agree - Kaspersky or ESET are probably your best options for the complete suite you are looking for. Both have free trials - just make sure to only install 1 at a time if you are going to try them both.

And when you remove Norton 360 you should use their removal tool after uninstalling through add/remove programs (programs and features in vista)

Avast is the best, because it is free, and never let me down. Don't get avg, i hate it! CPU hogger!

AVG is a good Anti Virus that i used till i bought V-Com 6.I am planning on
V-Com Fix-It 8 soon.It has more then just Anti Virus.
I posted the wrong link, yours is right.Surprised you posted it with your
AVG satisfaction.

Some work better than others some are free and some are not..

PC Tools Antivirus free found stuff that ESET NOD32 couldn't find or clean. That's pretty bad for a popular Antivirus program I was using that for years. On a Vista box I have to use AVG 8 free PC Tools AV just won't work right and slows the system down. On XP Pro and 2000 Pro no problem.

So AVG 8 free for Vista and PC Tools AV for 2000/XP/2003 Server also and it's for free!
