There are specialist forums to discuss the development of Linux. The Windows and Apple sections on Techspot are themselves not great places to post for assistance. I like to read the articles about recent technical developments but the quality of posts particularly in the Windows section has been in steady decline for years. My desktop is making a funny noise and smoke comes out when I turn it on. What should I do? By the way I have no money to spend and know nothing about computers. I'm expecting to read such a plea for help very soon. Somebody may be daft enough to answer it too.
