Wifi Connection

HI,
bought a new HP laptop. Every time I turn laptop on it shows that I have no internet connection over wifi and there are no wireless connections available (even if I am sitting next to router). I then run diagnostic thing and am advised to plug in ethernet, I do this and internet fine.
I then remove ethernet and it automatically connects to my router.
I've made sure all windows 10 updates have been done but it is really bugging me.
what do I need to do please?

Might check in device manager to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks under Network Adapters. If none, you might have a switch/key to toggle for internet. Good luck.

WiFi comes from router? and has been made secure with WPA2? and has an identification name and a password?

Then determine the information from the router (described in the manual) and make the connection using "Network".

ps: Strongly recommend WPA2 and new identifier name and new password as somebody could just hijack it otherwise.
