Windows 10 Spring Creators Update: A guide to some of the biggest changes

What you see is while trying to edit. It is not really double posting. It is only showing you a ghost of your original plus the edited. If you refresh the page it will disappear.
Hi Thanks. I have no idea what you just said. I now have a red number 4 by my name. It was 1.
I'm tired. Thanks for your reply friend. I'm going to bed and hope this is all settled tomorrow, and hope I'm not in serious trouble here on TS. I love this forum.

The "4" to the right and above you name are your pending notifications. Please don't tell me I have to explain those categories individually.

My notification fly out stopped working, but I assumed it was because I have 100+ tabs open in Opera, and the browser cache hasn't been cleaned in months. If anyone knows different, please PM me.

As for windows 10, screw that. I'll be taking XP & Window 7 to the grave with me.

As for imaging earlier versions of an OS installation, just buy a spare drive, and use the free migration software you can get with WD and Samsung drives, to transfer the current install, to the next. If you want a backup of the current version of your install as your saved image, you obviously have to migrate the OS twice.

Hi. Old time friend, I now have a red number 5 by my name, and sir, I have no clue what to do with it. Thank you for your reply my friend, but true-fully I really have no clue what you just posted. I can understand your alliance to XP and W7, but other then that, your reply makes no sense to me. This has all changed and I think it's a bug. It's always good to hear your thoughts @captaincranky even when I have no clue of what you posted.LOL. Thank you for your reply.

My thinking tonight is that you all are a little weird here on the techsopt forum, and I'm going to go to bed now and not worry about any of this until tomorrow.;):D OH by the way, I'm also a little weird if you haven't noticed.

Wondering tonight. Would the techspot staff like me to move on and not be apart of all this. I would do that; but it would make me very sad.

Be patient and let them fix the issue. You are not the only one experiencing the issue. Julio has already posted, he knows about the issue and has made arrangements to have it looked into.

Oops Sorry friend. I will behave now. Thank you for your reply my friend. You are appreciated.

Here's my 2 cents and I'm sure it will cause a lot of flack. The worst Windows install you will ever get is a free windows upgrade. It has been my experience that if you do a clean install and keep your machine maintained, you will not have any problems.
Sure it's a lot of work, but so is fighting a blotched W10 install all the time.
Here's link from techspot. https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6734-windows-10-installation-tool.html
PS You can still get W10 free. Here's link from techspot.;)

This has ended. No more free licenses.

Google it. Or try it for yourself. I don't care either way if you don't believe it. You can download an iso file but when you try to install with a windows 7 or 8 license it will not work any longer.
OK thanks for your reply. I will check with my friend and post back here.;) I realize MS can shut it off any time they choose. Maybe TS staff can check this out for us.(y)I'm not arguing, just posting what I've see and heard. I'm sure MS with shut off the free offer some time??

Using the Fall Media Creator tool, you can still clean install and activate Windows 10 with a valid Windows 7 or 8 license not in use currently....I have done it twice as recently as last week

Anytime you are offered something for nothing, you know what the creator of the product or software thought it was worth. Nothing! Free software is ALWAYS a rat-shoot.
I Have been active in IT for 25 years, give or take. M$ has NEVER made anything that worked well for the average Joe. Everything has always been for the office user, businesses and networked systems. If you want to use their stuff, you need to realize that and act accordingly.
First, buy a Professional version of the software. I have always done that. Second, turn off, pull out by the roots and otherwise eliminate as much fluff as possible, both to prevent data-gathering and also to streamline your installation. Disable any auto-updates.Do not send data to M$ for analysis-they usually can'f fix it anyhow.
Keep your actual data on a separate drive under your control. When your system gets too screwed up, reload from as clean a drive as possible. Parallel SCSI used to be the way to get a clean HD. Don't think it's possible anymore!
When the updates take longer than the basic OS to install, it's probably time for the next version.

When ALL of this crap gets to be too much of a bother, it's probably time to retire

For the record Windows 10 was not free. Windows 10 Upgrade was paid for with the purchase of Windows 7 and Windows 8.

I have test loaded Win 10 4 times and never surrendered a Win7 0r Win 8 license to do so. I did pay for Win 7 Pro and would like to keep it as long as possible. I maintain you spend more time getting Win 10 to work than you do working with it. If M$ wants to give something away, let them set up a useful training site to demystify Win 10 for the average user.
I haven't found ANYTHING in Win 10 to justify its extremely steep (and totally unintuitive) learning curve.

I have several PCs and have Win 10 on 2 of them (it came installed on 2 new systems). The rest are win 7 Pro.

Hi I guess all you Windows haters can go Apple or Linux.;)
Sometimes, in all forms of human endeavor, it's best if you flat out hate everything, that way, you'll never be disappointed.

Which holds very true for all computer operating systems in general.

There's always a hidden agenda behind the GUI

Upgrading to Windows 7 from XP was not a free upgrade either. In fact I spent $50 to pre-order a Windows 7 upgrade.
Dude, M$ wouldn't even sell me Vista. I installed the "Vista Upgrade Advisor Update", into my crappy eMachines, and it said, "fuggeddaboutit"..,no Vista for that turd.:D
