Windows 11 25H2 vs Windows 10: Which is Faster for Gaming?

When Linux can deliver the same perf or better, with all games working, all anti cheat supported, then we can talk about it being an alternative.

Let me ask:
Who does deliver that kernel level Chep-Anti for BF6?
Are you sure that Windows delivers it?
Why should Linux do something Windows does not?

11 has been just as good as 10 for gaming since day one, if you actually know what you are doing meaning custom install + tweaks / limited processes running = Peak gaming performance, especially when using newer hardware in new(er) games.

BTW ... windows 10 is EOL.

Fair enough. Though claiming "secure" while admitting there are still cheaters, is in fact declaring factually that it ins't secure, and thus, Linux has no skin in that game. Quod erat demonstrandum.

Windows 10 + data backup + image FTW!

This is pretty much my take/action too. Except I'm trying to find a Linux disto that's auto update for core security features. Games well. Isn't overly complex. Has a decent install base and active dev.

I gave W11pro several decent install and test over the years.
The last one with the help of a folks here finally got me 25H2 Local account. Also removed most of the OS (slop) Lots of Group Policy, and reg tweaks.

It never crashed, and ran well on my old z390 test PC, (after all the tweaks). Used LibreWolf as default browser.

EVEN after all this, I still hate it. Desktop activity speed is similar to W10pro. Cannot compare games due to very different GPUs.

I simply cannot use W11pro. I admit it is in part subjective. But even after tweaks I get occaisional prompts to install one drive - NO WAY!! and a few other things.

Then there is the kiddy simple context menus. I could go on but it is MicroSlops worst ever OS IMHO.

I'm fine with W10pro, massively tweaked system. No Store. No update, sleek fast and easy.
No remote of course, no telemetry Firewall blocks all but what I need to browse, use email, and game. No security worries. (W11 patches are more like malicious software, at times.)

I learned a fair bit during the countless hours of trying to make W11pro something I, objectively, and subjectively was satisfied with. Didn't happen. But did find out how far MS have gone to control everything they can.

By the time Software devs stop supporting W10 I will have found a good Linux. (I hope!)

But I am done with Sataya, MicroSlop. Forced Slop. Their A.I slop. Their way of conducting business disgusts me. The whole corp disgusts me.

I used to like them. I thought the Xbox original and 360 were very good. Prior to W11 I felt I was in control of my own PC. (W10 needs plenty of fixing to get there, I admit.)

W7 was their last "just," an operating system with optional goodies.

W10 borderline and does require plenty of tweaks/hacks etc.

W11 is a Slopfest, with an OS somewhere in there, but I found the core OS in no better than W10.

MicroSlop deserve to fail. Time will tell.

I use Fedora KDE to play games on Linux. I play Arc Raiders, Division 2 and a lot of single player games, including Hogwarts Legacy, God of War, AC Mirage, Mass Effect, Forza Horizon 5. It works. no tweaks, no custom settings, no command line. New and old games. VRR is enabled, so is HDR on Tv (fro single player games using controller). I play Arc Raiders and Division 2 at 120 fps.

Isn't Arc Raiders the only new game on that list? All the rest are like a few years old.

I think if anyone ever does a real list of new games n see how well they play would be great. But even if a list is done, so many gamers run windows they wouldn't simply just switch. Most would just keep using windows, more so the streamers who get ppl to watch whatever game they are streaming aren't switching from windows. All of this at the end of the day make it hard for any OS to get into gaming and have any real difference.

Does not change the fact that tons of games don't work in Linux due to different reasons, or has worse performance numbers - hence Windows is still the obvious choice for gaming with actual official support from the game developers.

No-one builds a top tier gaming PC and then installs Linux only. Tells you enough.

Well, I suppose then, we'll continue to disagree. That said, you are on Windows, I am mostly on Linux; the end result is still all of us enjoying pc gaming, regardless of OS. Everyone wins.

Don't get me going on One Drive! Annoying AF and, my God, MS wants you to save every file there by default so I have always browse away wasting my time and clicks. As you know, that's but one very, very annoying aspect of One Drive. I don't need it, I don't want it and I'll never want it. However, it's more tightly integrated than Explorer was to Windows - before EU shut that down.

That's fine. I use what works just like you do. I dont have issues with Windows like others do. Its not perfect, nothing ever is but its not stopping me from playing a game.
Maybe your issues stem from outside of gaming, I just use mine for gaming and light stuff, nothing work related or anything.

And dont even get me started on onedrive, I have a personal server and onedrive tried to sync with my laptop, got stuck and then it corrupted 12tb of our personal family photos.

So no I will never upgrade to windows 11 no matter how much faster it is.

You lost 4 months of progress because of an update? You didnt have multiple backups of something so critical? Even after over a decade of mandates auto updates being the norm?

People always seem to blame 11 for their own bad choices.
