is that compatable? can I install windows XP the normal 32 bit one on a 64 bit PC?

just in case anybody wonders why I would do that, simple: the pc comes without OS is half the price of a 32 bit but I wont have a cent left to by a 64bit OS at the moment. would wait maybe till vista is launched.

Yes you can I have been running the 32 bit version for a few years with no problems.

Yes 32 bit OS will work on a 64 bit computer. You realy don't want the 64 bit XP anyway It offers verry little preformance increase and is full of bugs.64 bit XP also can't run 16 bit apps which means you cant run older programs.Even some moderm 32 bit programs have 16 bit installers which can make useing these programs dificult. If you want a true 64 bit OS and not a poorly recompiled 32 bit OS skip 64 bit XP and wait for Vista.
