Windows xp professional boot problem

Recently i had a virus infestation, so i decided to install a fresh copy of windows xp professional, it installed fine, until the moment it came to load up the windows. It just hangs. Last good configuration doesn't work, and neither is safe mode.



Please help!



P.S:

I tried it with different windows xp professional's. (different discs).

Was a full reformat performed? And from a Cold Boot?
How much memory do you have... Often this problem results when you have less than 768 MB or memory.
You may have some evil infestation residing in memory. Try again in Safe mode to clean it.

What's a full reformat? what's cold boot?

512 ram.



And safe mode doesn't work, it freezes up at the same point.
