Recap: Blizzard Entertainment's gaming convention is returning in 2026, and tickets for the event are set to go on sale later this week. BlizzCon was first held in 2005 and would go on to be a mostly annual occurrence until 2020 when it was canceled due to the pandemic. The event would return in 2021 in an online-only format but wouldn't be held at all in 2022. The gathering resumed in 2023 but Blizzard elected to skip both 2024 and 2025.
BlizzCon 2026 will be held September 12-13, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Early bird tickets for the two-day event start at $249.99 and will be available to purchase starting this Friday, November 7, at 9 am Pacific, through November 9. The price includes all taxes and fees, and Blizzard is raising the maximum number of passes you can purchase from two to four.
If you miss the early bird window, fret not. A second window will open on November 18 with prices starting at $289.99.
Standard passes will include full admission to both days as well as select in-game goodies and commemorative items. Add-on experiences, like access to a charity night benefiting Make-A-Wish, will be available for an additional fee.
There is a public resale market for BlizzCon passes should your plans change, but it only applies to the base pass. Add-ons like charity night access cannot be resold, we're told.
In addition to opening night ceremonies, event-goers can attend developer panels, participate in a community night, take in esports competitions, relive fan favorites in the Blizzard Arcade, and experience the latest updates to popular titles like Diablo IV, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and World of Warcraft.
Blizzard is also planning to livestream the opening ceremony and most major panels free of charge, and at-home attendees will even be able to get their hands on select in-game content.
It's good to see Blizzard get back into the swing of hosting live events post-Covid as it gives like-minded fans the opportunity to mingle with peers and support the games they love.
