Dell’s revived XPS 16 isn’t cheap, and its USB-C-only port layout won’t suit everyone, but everything else about it lands squarely in premium territory. If you can afford the asking price, this iconic laptop is a rewarding experience.

Dell’s XPS laptops have always come at a premium for their design and build. And though the XPS 16 has made some improvements, it’s unique looks still come with usability drawbacks. It’s a great-looking machine with some solid hardware, but other devices are much more practical, pleasant to use, and (often) more affordable.

The Dell XPS 16 delivers the good thanks to its redesigned chassis, gorgeous tandem OLED panel, powerful Panther Lake performance, and long-lasting battery life. Though it has a slightly smaller display and lacks a microSD card slot, it’s still an overall phenomenal Windows laptop and a welcome return of the iconic brand.

The slimmer and more focused design of the new XPS 16 can sometimes feel barebones when compared to some competitors. Alternatives like the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra or Asus Zenbook S16 feature more integrated ports or even support for secondary M.2 SSDs to reduce reliance on adapters or docking stations.

The XPS 16 has nearly everything you want from a premium 16-inch productivity laptop and it's a worthy flagbearer for one of the most iconic notebook lines of all time.
