Application Performance

Excel only relies on CPU power and as a result, the Core HT's i5 2520M outpaced the competition at 12.88 seconds, versus 18.45 seconds for the A8-3850 and 38.96 seconds for the Vision 3D's i3 370M.

WinRAR also relies on CPU power and the Core i5 2520M dominated again, taking just 159 seconds to compress the 700MB file while the AMD A8-3850 took 243 seconds and the Vision 3D took 293 seconds.

Photoshop CS5 utilizes both CPU and GPU power, though our test primarily uses the CPU. The CoreHT took only 49.3 seconds, slightly faster than the AMD A8-3850 and much quicker than the Vision 3D.
