Folks planning to copy data locally on the Synology DS2411+ -- from one RAID array to another, for example -- should be pleased with its performance. The DS2411+ likely has an advantage over the DS1511+ here due to the larger number of drives in the array. When duplicating our 6GB ISO file on disk, the DS2411+ provided a bandwidth of 61MB/s whereas the DS1511+ was slightly slower averaging 55MB/s.

The DS2411+ average 36.7MB/s in our game copy test, making it a fraction faster than our C2D machine and the DS1511+.

The DS2411+ lost its momentum in our program copy test with a throughput of 13.7MB/s, putting it back behind the DS1511+.
