580 GTX SLi

[LEFT]Hello, a friend is looking to get rid of his Gigabyte GeForce GTX 580 SOC. I have a EVGA GTX 580 SuperClocked card myself. Are these 2 cards identical in specs, and can I run them in SLi without issue?

They are both GTX580 GPU's. Difference in clocks or VRAM don't matter, as the lowest common number will be used. They can be SLI'd.

I'd recommend having the EVGA on the bottom.

Yeah, what I meant by same specs, is that will 1 card hold the other one back? I heard that unless the cards are the same, SLi doesnt work properly as 1 card cant perform as the other.

They are both 580's, but the clocks may be slightly different, so it'll use the lower one. Just Overclock to match.

They're the same chip, same VRMs, same everything except different cooler and different clock speeds which you can adjust using MSI Afterburner or similar program.
