8800 GTX Works On Pci-e 2.0?

Hello all, i have an 8800 GTX and i was looking at some motherboards Like the asus striker 2 formula and it has pci-e 2.0 slots will my 8800 gtx work in thoose slots? or can it only work in pci-e 1 slots?
