NEED HELP WITH THIS PC with this acpi.sys ERROR!
acpi.sys ERROR!
This pc is a Compaq Presario Mode 7470
I used wipe.exe and wiped hard drive.
I then fdisked hard drive.
I have tried and tried installing XP Pro and even tried XP Home and WinME and still get same acpi.sys ERROR!
I have taken out all pc memory out and put in memory out of my other pc that I know is fine, and still get acpi.sys ERROR!
I have wiped and cleaned another different hard drive and tried installing XP Pro or XP Home and still get acpi.sys ERROR!
I try to install fresh from full re-install of XP Pro or XP Home and it goes through the motions of starting windows with the CD,
but it stops and says a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
It also mentions having enough disk space, which it does. At the bottom it says technical information:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0xF947c981, 0xf9977134, 0xF9976E34)
acpi.sys - Address F947C981 base at F9467000, Datestamp 3d6dd69f.
I have google searched and searched on this ----> acpi.sys ERROR!
I can't seem to get or find any true fix help with this!
I have never ever ran up on this before in all the pc's ive re-done and helped friends and family with ever.
