Active X controls not working?

Hi people. I recently installed W7 SP1 and am having trouble viewing/interacting with many websites. e.g. my banking website I use, when I left click on a icon that should fold down menu options it does nothing. On other websites /forums the 'post' button doesn't. On some I will copy some text and it wont paste etc... im thinking my active x controls are to blame as when I first visited many websites I declined the use of them on some?
After installing W7 I have downloaded/installed all MS updates, and the latest antiviris/malware, adobe reader, flash-player and java.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to view the websites in which you have issues with "Compatibility Mode"?

IE instructions:
Go to Website in question.
Press Alt to bring up menu.
Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings > press "Add" and close the dialog box.
Try to use the website again.

Try going into Internet Options, then click on the Security tab. Then click on Trusted Sites and add the URL for your bank.
