So which mobo would i get for for this processor?

basically which setup am I looking to get for what i want?
The Asrock 4CoreDual SATA2 for a E4500 or E2140 (or even a E2180.)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157115

Some say it has problems with nvida cards when using Vista. I don't know but my x800gto AGP worked great in my Asrock DualVSTA 775 with Xp. That is really the same mobo. I liked it but sold it to a fellow folder on my team for cheap.

I have another mobo that supports Core2 with AGP and DDR--a ECS P4M800ProM (v2.0). It's micro ATX. It was one of those crazy priced mobo/cpu combos from Frys with a E4300. Newegg doesn't seem to have them any more, maybe there is one on ebay?

Wow, a AM2 mobo with AGP slot! Still it requires DDR2. I just bought a 2gig set of Crucial Bullistix for $50 from outpost.com that would work great with a AM2 processor.

ok so with that Processor given by Mirob and Mobo given by Cinders. It would let me use my two hard drives, my dvd/cd rom/burnr, my video card and my ram? or what. I am still a bit confused so I apologize I just am not to knowledgeable hen it comes to the mobo and processor. plus i tried Splinter Cell double agent and got through the firs training mission but it crashed in the 2nd training mission so even over-clocking did not help.

so if I may ask once more so i can use my two IDE hard drives, my 9600 GT 512 ram video card, my Pioneer brand Dvd/Cd rom/burtner(costed $170+ and in not even a year old. and if possible my ram, or even my cd-rom which would i bee looking to get for the increase in speed?

Also want to ask about a PSU higher than a 430W that doesn't use the old style ribbon cables, I would love to get those tub shaped ones for better airflow.

so to help:

Mobo:
Processor:
PSU:
Ram(if needed):

This mobo can only use DDR2 as AM2 processors have a DDR2 memory controller. There is no other kind of memory that will work. You would need new DDR2. Right now DDR2 is cheap. That mobo also has only one IDE connection so only two of the drives you want to keep will work with it at one time. It would work well with a4000+ X2.
The Asrock 4CoreDual SATA2 for a E4500 or E2140 (or even a E2180.)

This mobo can use DDR or DDR2, but only one kind at a time. It can only use two memory dimms at a time. If you have 2x1024mb sticks of PC3200 it will work fine. If you have 4x512mb you can only use two sticks. It has both primary and secondary IDE so you can connect four drives (plus 2 SATA drives.)
The E2180 will work with it, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116052
Or better would be a E4500 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115031
Or for cheap the E2140 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116037
Better and best choices would be a E6600 or Q6600. Both of those seem out of your price range.
Microcenter.com has lower CPU prices.

my ram is 2x1 gig sticks so looks like the 2nd choices would be better so this setup listed would let me keep what i got video card wise, dvd-burner, my 2 IDE hard drives and ram if i am reading it correctly, what about my x52 cd-rom?

Also what would be the top speed i would be getting for eahc and what motherboard would be best

i mean i am running a 1.67 GHZ AMD Processor which i forget what the equivalent is but bottom line is will this let me get a at least a 3.2 equivalent?

I am just still confused of my current stuff i have mainly video card and hard drives and cd-rom and dvd-rom.burner what I'd be able to keep as well as how much speed increase I'll get and which combo of motherboard and processor.

Ok I finally have had time to post and need a bit more info.

I have two IDE hard drives and I want to use a DVd-rom\burner. I also would like to keep my 2x1gig G.skill ram. and my 7600 gt video card, So which Motherboard, and Processor combonation listed prior can I get to work with these devices?

The Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA and the E21xx series CPUs will be the best for you.

The Asrock 4coredual-vsta board link is no longer there, and as for teh three mobo's listed under asrock not sure which is the one, so please if you can link me two the two items for me so I can use ethe 2 hard drives, the dvd-rom, the video card and the ram please?

Here is the motherboard link. As for the CPUs, go with either the E2140, the E2160 or the E2180 as per your budget. My personal choice would be to get the E2180 if your budget allows for it.
