Amazon confirms Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti price and (this week's) launch date

I'm actually pretty pleased with what I have right now. I upgraded my 1070 last winter to a 5700xt because I got a new 1440p monitor, and my intention was always to wait for either second generation ray tracing from Nvidia or for big navi and wait for the dust to settle and sales before I got the card I really wanted to take advantage of the 144hz my monitor can do. I got the 5700xt for a little over$350.
Yeah, I got one of those myself. It turns out that we dodged a bullet, eh?

It's because I don't think that's what's happening. The last time there was a mining craze, the tech press was all over it, not so much now. The mining crash that came after it wiped a lot of people out. Those that are left aren't stupid enough to go all-in like the people who went bust did. I believe that AMD's shortages are a result of TSMC's manufacturing capacity being exceeded by demand for Ryzen and Radeon while nVidia's shortages are a result of Samsung's substandard quality silicon. Bots and scalpers are also making themselves felt in a way that I've never seen before.

There is a new mining craze coming for sure, and this is the main reason there is no Ampere stock and the reason for the prices going up. 3060ti will be around 500-550€ and 3070 went up to 650€. Is the normal price now.

I advise anyone wanting new GPUs to buy fast, even 2000 series, because things will only get worse in 2021

£490 fot the Ventus 2X is ridiculous.
The 3060Ti was my last hope of getting a new gpu before xmas, but not at these prices.
Looks like I have to wait some months for a reasonable deal.

unfortunately, nVidia doesn't care for reasonable price, look at 2060S price...(it's over 350 euros in most stores in Europe...)

I have good news for potential buyers - there should be no shortage of these cards .... because no one in their right mind will buy them at these prices as this is more than rtx 3070 or RX 6800 and approaching rtx 3080 or RX6800 XT.

I hope that you're mistaken but it's certainly possible that you're not. Another mining craze is the last thing that we need right now.

I've a feeling that these cards will see MUCH more availability - especially at these eye-watering prices.
Given that Nvidia are strangely silent about this mainstream product.
The flak that AMD got for their pricing structure on the 68xx series will pale into insignificance
if these are indeed the pricing levels of the 3060ti.
Rumor has it that NVidia's suggested pricing left no room for 3rds parties to make any money on them.
So I pretty much would say the 3rd parties are probably selling them for an unreasonable premium.
Steve over at gamersnexus did a video on this very subject and stated it was probably true to an extent, but the cost of the cooling solutions are generally pennies on the dollar of the standard pcb design.

It's not like any normal person will even be able to get one probably until sometime in 2021...what's the point?

Will my PC implode if I continue to use my 1080Ti. How can I survive without a new GPU that is only a virtual product. I will need therapy by Xmas.

See you in 3 months or even 12 months from now when the prices will be the same or even higher. :)
Tell me about it. I bought my R5-3600X in July and my RX 5700 XT in August, supposedly the worst time to buy tech products but I had a hunch. Turns out my hunch was right and I ended up saving about $100. The R5-3600X is currently $20 less than I paid (because of BF/CM) but the RX 5700 XT is about $120 MORE than I paid. It looks like I dodged a bullet because when it turned out that neither the RTX 30 or RX 6000 series cards are actually available, the RTX 20 and RX 5000-series cards jumped in price because a lot of people said "screw this" due to the lack of existing product. I'm glad that I was at the opposite end of the year when I bought my stuff. LOL

Yep, I did see Gamer Meld talking about it and he's usually spot-on for things like this. A mining craze combined with SARS-CoV-2, sneaker bots and scalpers mean that while AMD, nVidia, Samsung and TSMC are set for record profits, we're fracked. Well, anyone who wants something new is anyway. I'm extremely thankful that I bought an RX 5700 XT in August. That's plenty of a performance uplift for me because I was satisfied with the speed of my R9 Fury but I wasn't happy with the only 4GB of VRAM. Sure, it was HBM and it was able to handle some situations that 4GB of GDDR5 wouldn't have been able to but it proved to be insufficient for newer AAA titles.

Now I have 8GB of VRAM so I'll be good for a nice long while. It's not like I need to play games at 2160p Ultra. These days, games look good at pretty much all settings. That's why I don't understand people going bat$hit crazy over the implementations of ray-tracing. The games I play generally involve finding stuff to kill while trying to avoid being killed. They're not games that are really conducive to stopping and admiring the scenery. I've fond that most games are like that. The higher graphics detail settings are nice, but even the lowest settings don't make me think "potato" in modern games like they did in older ones.

Highly anticipated: While we’ve seen repeated leaks regarding the RTX 3060 Ti and its release date, many of the sources haven’t exactly been reliable. But the latest reveal comes from Amazon UK and is backed by one of the country’s largest tech retailers, both of which confirm the long-rumored December 2 release date.

With photos and benchmarks of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti flooding the internet over the last few weeks, the launch of the card, still not confirmed by Nvidia, seemed inevitable.

Now, Amazon UK is listing the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC for pre-order with a release date of December 2. It corroborates reports that the card features 8GB of GDDR6 memory and a memory clock speed of 1400 MHz.

MSI’s RTX 3060 Ti is selling on Amazon for £490.18, which works out at around $655. It’s important to note that tech goods in the UK cost much more than their US counterparts, mostly because of the extra tax. UK retailer Scan, meanwhile, lists the Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle 8GB with a December 2 launch date, though there’s no price right now.

Tom’s Hardware notes that MSI’s RTX 3060 Ti is for sale for between €550 ($655) and €685 ($816) in several European countries, while versions of the card from Gigabyte, Inno3D, and Zotac are listed in Estonia, Latvia, and Spain for €484 ($576) and €592 ($705).

Those are all very expensive, even taking into consideration the difference in overseas prices, but we still haven’t had confirmation of the MSRP, which is rumored to be between $349 and $399. It could just be that these third-party cards cost more, especially as this will likely be another tech product with low availability at launch.

Earlier this week, the RTX 3060 Ti appeared in the Ashes of the Singularity database, beating all Turing offerings bar the RTX 2080 Super. We've also seen numerous images of the card leak online.

Permalink to story.

Neither Amazon UK nor Scan have these listed; either with a price, availablility or for pre order, as of Dec 1st 09:50

Nvidia and AMD have almost no available chips as the production is still insignificant (or not effective) and AMD still is feeding Microsoft and Sony (consoles). The issue is that a lot of people, whatever the price is, they buy the new generations, with that in mind, they are just overpriced and the few ones available in 2020, will sell out even with a premium (25-30%) above price.

Unless you are one of those people who has a crazy "need" (madness) for games/ graphics, you will be better off waiting for 2021 (March) and even get a higher model for the same price. On my country I already see people selling the 2070 Super for 250€, so I think all 30x0 will have the price reduced just in 3 months. And as most games run just fine at 1440p or even 4K on most 1080 Ti, 2070 (S), I think spending such a premium for a new card is just bad business.
250Euro for a 2070S? You are lucky, wherever you are. Here in the UK a 2070S goes for well over £300 at the moment.

Kinda makes me wonder what I can get for a Sapphire Radeon R9 Fury Nitro OC+ Edition. I have two and I only need one as a backup GPU. LOL

FWIW, Today (12-2) was the release date for the RTX 3060. Just for laughs, I checked Newegg' s selling prices on the card. The good news was, they were sale priced at or near the MSRP, centered around $400.00 US. Unfortunately, the were completely sold out of every one. Ironically, this was a result of a special email, dedicated specifically to advertising these cards..

The following is a screen grab of a GTX-1050 ti offering, I took at the height of the mining card hysteria:
