AMD B850 Motherboard Roundup: 23 Motherboards Tested Under $200

It wasn't long ago I was looking for a board of this type. Then I decided no I do not want to spend my time and energy building a new system

Why does ASRock "need" 11 SKU's of B850 motherboards?? Surely 6 at most would be enough.
A basic, middle & top models in both ATX & M-ATX would be sufficient. And you would think it should make the manufacturing process cheaper as well.

MSI pro all the way. I love when companies put attention to small details like that white IO shield. I would definitely pick it out of these boards.

Like previous people said earlier, you really should mention in the review the ongoing problem with AMD processors and ASRock motherboards. FWIR the general consensus is to avoid Asrock motherboards for now.

Can u elaborate? Is it something fixable with firmware?

There are attempts by ASRrock to try and fix this with bios updates, but the confidence is rather lost.
You can have a look at ASRock subreddit but you can also google asrock amd ryzen 9000 and you'll find a lot of news about it, including TechSpot.

A lot of these boards are downgrades from the B650 line. For example the Aorus Elite line has 60A MOSFETS whereas my B650M Aorus Pro AX has 70A ones. The one and only 'upgrade' is PCIE 5, which my board has had since 2023 (primary PCIE and M2).

While Gigabyte have 'downgraded' the WiFi cards from AMD and Intel to Realtek I'm glad they didn't include an Intel card, even though I don't use WiFi. My laptop had an Intel AX201, which I replaced with a Realtek one due to it losing connection randomly, requiring a reboot.

I always had a soft spot for Bx50 series. Obviously it does not have the features of higher level boards but it is cost effective for an upgrade. I am not that big of a fan with current AM5 Asrock boards. Read some bad reviews. I may be looking at MSI as I have used them from the 2000s.
