As I recalled during the testing, the CPU/GPU temps were fine (both below 80°C, fans set on turbo initially), although I did not use HWMonitor to check other sensor data. I already returned the notebook, so that the inspection team can dig a bit further into the issue I encountered. I am far from a technical specialist to understand all details and why this is happening. It could be a power distribution issue under specific workloads and conditions. Are the VRM temps ok?
I experienced a similar issue with the first batches of Surface Book 2, were only later MS admitted the throttling issue and solved it via some Firmware Update, supposedly. Prior to that I had returned the SB2 four times until I got the feedback that it was not an isolated case. As for the Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, I think it is also be an issue in the line of CPU flags being triggered (in Intel case it was a wrongly set BD PROCHOT, for AMD I don't know how this is handled).
If I wasn't busy with my student work right now, I would have tested more, but then the return windowed would have elapsed, and I would be stripped of better courses of action. I really hope it to be an isolated case, but far too many times in the past I was proven wrong.
