Anyone recommends diagnostic POST cards?

I'm a Computer Repair technician. I somtimes think..."what about those POST cards"...I heard there's USB POST cards too?... I guess they're mostly PCI Express nowadays. I wonder if they may be useful to troubleshoot dead motherboard issues or when putting together PCs...

I'd welcome any advice on this...
