Hey all,

I just replaced a faulty mobo with this one by doing a repair install of XP. Now the system boots super slow and is jerky fr the first few minutes in XP. After a bit though it is fine.

I have flashed to the latest bios. here are some specs:
ALiMAGiK 1 M1647/M1535D+ Chipset
1 GB DDR (2 512 sticks)
ATI 9250 AGP
WD 160GB HDD
Cmedia Sound Card
TrendNET Wireless Card

How can I get rid of the lag?

Thanks

Hard drives and memory modules are the usual causes.
If you are using the old hard drive from the other install, you must reformat and reinstall the drive from scratch in order to get successful fast boots.... otherwise WXP will detect it as a illegal install.... detecting a change in the equipment.

for real?

I have done this before and had no problems...

I mean I am sure that would be faster, but it shouldn't be as slow as it is.

hey i figured it out!

I found some drivers for the motherboard online

according to Boolog XP I went from 302 sec to 84 sec!

Thanks again
