ASUS DVD-RW problem

Hello to all!



I've bought an Asus DVD writer model 1608p2s and i wrote a dvd,and burn was completed succesfully but when it ejects the disc and i put it back it doesn't read it anymore.It says "Please insert disc" or "no disc".I tried the disc to read on a normal DVD-Rom and it goes well and reads it too,but only my writer doesn't read it at all.

asus dvd writes but wont read

I have the same problem with the same drive, it writes ok but will not read any data or audio although the contents display ok. v strange.... any help appreciated

may have fixed this. I have swapped my original ide cable for one of the new fangled twice as many wires ones and all seems to be working fine. funny, no where does it mention that it has to be the new type cable.....ah welll.
