ATMT 300 GB External HD Problem

Hi

My ATMT 300 GB External HD is playing up......

Every now and then in explorer the files vanish from the folders? I turn off the drive and switch straight back on and everything is OK.

Any thoughts? It's annoying cos I back up to this drive and sometimes the back up does not complete because it can't see the drive.

I am not familiar with ATMT Is that a brand or a type?

Just to let you know - problem was resolved by changing USB port
