pentium 4, 3.2 ghz
2 gb of ram

It would be best if you didn't post the same problem more than once. It creates confusion when different members try to help you in two different threads. More is not better in this case.

Try downloading Ccleaner and clean the registry of all traces of BF2. Ccleaner is a freeware program.

help me

ok i just got the game battlefield 2 so after instaling it i restarted me computer like it says. so when i went to go play the game i clicked the icon battlefield and the little screen that says battlefield 2 came up after that my screen went black for 3 seconds and then went back to my desktop.

i think the problem is that i have windows vista?

can anybody help me????

You change the compatibility mode while the game is not running. I don't have Vista so I'm taking this from a Windows website page:

Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows.

Follow the instructions in the wizard.

i did what you said and it still just goes black for 3 sec.....then brings me back to my desktop......?what should i do know?

I had the same problem, mine would load up until the point were I tried to connect to a server, then crash back to desk top.

I found out that it was actually my sound card, I have a sound blaster X-Fi Elite Pro, running in Windows Vista x64, I simply uninstalled it and used the intergrated sound card on the motherboard, all is fine.

Don't know if this helps

Hmm, do you have the required hardware for the game? Also, have you installed the appropriate drivers for all your hardware?

Post your system specs using SIW or Everest Home Edition and we'll see what we can do. Google for the above programs BTW.
