BIOS and Raid

Greetings

I'm in need of some help here if some cind soul is willing I'd be very glad.

I just bought a new cpu, but I can not use it. It's 45nm cpu, intel dual core. I have a asus p5b-e motherboard.

The problem is that I need to upgrade the bios, but if I do that, I fear that my raid will be lost.

Is there a way to upgrade the bios without upgrading the raid so that I dont lose all my data and current raid?

OS: win vista ultimate 64bit.

Backed up some files, copied the old bios, in with the new bios, set the raid settings up again and everything worked perfectly.
