BSOD 0x0000007E Win XP home

I have a Compaq Presario V2000(V2610CA) that was working fine. I shut it down, and when i went to reboot it I have been having the above BSoD on every boot, tried going to safe mode, last known good, recovery console(ran chkdsk /r multiple times, it found and fixed some errors) checked the regedit for intelppm(start regkey isn't there), renamed intelppm.sys anyway just to be sure, but I still can't boot. Any ideas?

I just remembered that as I was shutting down I closed the lid, which is set under the power management settings to put it in standby, could this have something to do with it? trying to shutdown and go into standby at the same time?
