BT Hub + Xbox 360

  1. I have recently purchased a new BT hub router, this has been working fine apart from when I play on Xbox Live in multiplayer online games. Its become a repititive problem that I keep getting disconnected in the middle of an online game session.

    Could this be conflict in wireless frequencies? As I do also have BT phones, or could this just be a simple configuration problem?

    This didn't happen before with a previous router.

    More likely to be the Maximum Transmissable Units (MTUs) - you need to lower the value shown by say 25 and then see if this settles it down.

    for ADSL, the best MTU is 1492.

    how is the xbox connected, wired or wireless?

    I have a wired xbox 360 via ethernet.
    I will try the lowering of the MTU, and get back to you on that.

    I think MTUs in the US are different to the UK - I have had to go to 1460 to get a stable connection in the UK before now.
