hello,
having a strange thing going on.
when booting, my PC gives me following message:
cannot find 02 secundary drive, press F1 to continue or F2 to reboot.
when pressing F1 computer boots normally and detects secundary drive correctly. it functions normally no problem. How can I get rid of this message.
I tried to change the jumer setting on the fdrive from slave to Cable Select but no difference.
Windows XP regconizes the drive correctly and there seems to be no issue.
The bios states auto and 40Gb which is correct.

can anyone assist in how to get rid of this message.

regards
wilfred

Cant find secondary drive error

Hi Spherica

Dont know your pc's specs but there are still some minor incompatability issues with IDE devces.. Sometimes combinations of certain hdd's and cd drive will only run as slave to the other but will as the master if you know what i mean....

I would check your IDE Lead by using a different one.

Make sure you have your Hdd as the Master and your cd as the slave
and that you have your System HDD on Primary IDE Controller.

Generraly just switch the connections round and see if it will run as the register as master instead of slave or Cable/Chip select.
