Can't consistently connect to NETGEAR router

I have trouble connecting to my NETGEAR router. For example on day it would connect and stay stable for a few hours then i cant connect to it for a few hours, then the next day i can get on it, any idea on how i can get it to connect to consistently?

update the firmware on your modem, router, and wireless adaptor (if any) and
update the NIC driver.

Then monitor for reliability.

I have a wired netgear router and after updating, it has been 100% reliable for
more than a year.
