I have a Packard Bell EasyNote R4 with Slimtype DVDRW SOSW-852S installed.
A few weeks ago, it wasn't showing up in My Computer. In Device Manager it was showing up with a yellow question mark.
I did "uninstall" then "scan for hardware changes" and it came back as before, with yellow question mark saying a problem occurred during installation.
In the end I did a system restore to a few days ago, and this resolved the problem. Great, I thought.
The problem has now recurred! I've done exactly as before, but the system restore no longer returns the CDRW/DVD to the my computer panel anymore.
Running Belarc Adviser shows that the drive is still there. It whirrs when I put a CD in, but nothing else. The computer is only a little over a year old!
Any help gratefully (& urgently!!) received
