Change default open programe for JPG

Hi,

I am trying to chnage the programe which open jpeg images in windows 2000 server. So I went to Control Pannel > Folder Options > File Types. Then I selected the file type. Unfortunatly "Change" and "Advanced" options are not actve. I have loged in to the system as administrator. I checked in another server but I can access all the options. Please advice.

Check the permissions on the relevant registry keys perhaps?

I don`t know if this`ll work with your version of Windows, but it certainly works in XP.

Right click on a jpeg file, and choose open with, and then select choose programme.

When you find the porgramme you wish to use, click on it, and then tick the box that says "Always use the selected programme to open this type of file" Click ok.

Even "Always use the selected programme to open this type of file" is not active. I think I need to find the correct registry entry to make it active.

Dont forget to use Shift + Right Click to always show "open with..." menu. Select your app, and select "always open using".
