City of Heroes issue

Hey people, I'm hoping some kind soul out there might be able to offer me some of their wisdom!

I purchased the game (As my machine was capable of running it) and whilst I can run it and get the updates it dosn't display the character during creation at all althought it displays them during the game fine (Albeit a bit slow and jerk)

I've spoken with the City of Heroes tech support who have said this is a known issue they're investigating and that it appears to be my motherboard as the problem.

My mother board is an Asus P4R800-VM, I also have an Intel 2.4ghz processer, 256mb RAM and a Radeon 9100 ATI graphic card.

Anyone else had a similar problem and found their own way around it ?

How much RAM on your graphics card and is it DDR, DDR2 or DDR3? If this game has good graphics it may mean your graphic card is not high enough to show your character in great detail. When you create characters on games it may have better graphics than the rest of the game. I don't know this game but that may be the case.
