Hey everyone,

I have selected parts for a new Computer i'm going to build myself. I know that these parts will be able to max out games like Wow and CS:S,But I have another Concern. My concern is if the parts i have selected are all compatible with each other. I reasearched and checked it out, and i believe that they are, but i don't know for sure. Please tell me if the parts listed below are all compatible with each other:

Right off the bat, you have an AM2 socket cpu going into a socket 939 motherboard. This will not work.

You should consider an AM2 motherboard, Crossfire ready. This will also likely cause you to change your memory as most AM2 motherboards use DDR2 vs DDR memories.
 
Socket AM2 CPUs have only just been released, the purpose being to support DDR2 memory. AM2 has superseded Socket 939, I think the last Socket 939 CPU was the FX-60.
 
They're compatible but an Intel Core2Duo e6600 will blow that AMD FX-62 out of the water and cost less than half as much. For 2 X1900s in crossfire you will need alot more than a 500w PSU.

I agree with dmill89 that Conroe is the way to go for a new build, though I have a few corrections to make to the proposed build:
1)This RAM has lower latency and is cheaper than the Corsair RAM u posted. Also, it's an OCZ Platinum series, so it's high-quality too.

2)This mobo has better reviews and has a larger RAM capacity than the MSI one. Plus it's cheaper too. The only real downside is that to use those two cards together u will need a Crossfire capable mobo and that is difficult to find. I have an ASUS P5WDH and I can't find it anymore on Newegg and TigerDirect. So u might wanna consider going SLI instead, since SLI-ready mobos are more easily available and SLI is easier to setup than Crossfire.

Choose any case u want, but make sure the mobo and PSU both fit in it first. The rest looks good. My system is similar, only I don't have the Raptor, I have an E6700, 4GB of RAM and an ASUS P5WDH mobo.

The abit Rage_3K_Moiz recomended is a good motherboard but it doesn't support Sli or Crossfore (only 1 pci express x16 slot)so if you want two video cards I recomend either the MSI board I recomended earlier or if you want extra features The ASUS that Sharkfood posted is also a good board. There are also several SLI board avalible for the Conroe.

Big thumbs-up on everything on that list. My only suggestions would be:
1) Feel free to shuffle the hard drives by brand/sizing if you wish to customize disk space at all. Any 7200rpm or 10,000rpm SATA HD's will work fine.
2) NewEgg has the XiFi Fatal1ty on sale for $145. Might want to upgrade to the XiFi Fat. or Platinum as you're already at a $189 budget for an Audigy 2.

Thats a very nice rig, the only thing i have to say is that u might wanna wait till the DX10 video cards r out. seems pretty pointless getting 2 1900's now wen the DX10 carsd will be out soon, plus quad core CPU's will be out soon aswell!

LOL. Very true though. Also, if u want a good quality, inexpensive sound card, try the ones from Diamond available on Newegg, they're around $30-40 and offer great features as well.

This optical drive is for laptops.
 
Yeah I was gonna point that out too. Blackjack, look for a Plextor if u want the best burning performance and if money is not a problem. Otherwise, get an NEC, Sony or a Samsung DVD burner, they're among the best ones. Avoid the LG GSA-H10, since it seems to be slower at reading and burning than other drives. I personally have seen this and it is the precise reason I chose a Samsung drive. Other LG models seem fine though.
 
Why would a Jedi need a ransom?

He/She would get out of a situation like that alone, without outside help.
 
This is the one I have and it works great. Also, for only $31 u get a DVD burner with LightScribe technology i.e. u can burn covers onto CDs and DVDs. So it's a sweet deal.
