Computer not booting

ok, well in class we stripped it down to the barebone to find out why it wasn't showing display on the monitor, and our assignment was to find out why when we powered it on, seconds after it comes off without getting the chance to boot...we changed the power source, same problem, then we changed the mother board, same problem, only when we changed the cpu, it came on and stayed on...so we know the cpu was the problem, but we have to find out why it was giving that particular problem of powering off before booting.

no beeps, its an assignment, ive posted it up in a reply to "rik"...take a read and tell me your professional thought plz.

The answer to your question is no. Not without a lot more information on what your system is and runs.
What you do or don't see on screen would be useful too.

rik is correct, we need more info....but I'll hazard a guess.

CPU overheating. Most modern CPUs have a thermal shut down function. If the cooling is not working properly a P4 3GHz or an AMD 64 series can reach max temp in seconds.

Cheers.
