Computer not reconizing software

I just recently purchased Pinnacle Studio Plus. When I put the CD in the drive the computer does not reconize it. It just does not read the software CD.

When I put in a blank CD to make a music CD the computer reconizes it instantly.

Why won't it reconize the software? Other info you may need
-Running Windows XP
-Pinnacle Studio Plus Version 10.5
-I belive I have a Memorex drive (???)

could be a defective disk or it could just be a glitch, it does happen sometimes. go to my computer and right click on the drive with the disk and choose explore. find the setup exe. file and click on it to begin the install.
