Computer restarts after 1-2 hours of gaming. Tried almost everything. Need ideas of whats going on.

Hi!
I've read like 400 forum posts with the same problem without finding the solutions.

My computer can run a game (CSGO) for about 1-2 hours then it restarts. No bluescreen. After that it can restart just by opening a new website on chrome.

Specs:
ASUS motherboard z87-A
GTX 970 strix
Intel i5 3.4 Ghz
16 gb ram Corsair
Fractal design 800w PSU
intel 128gb SSD

This is what ive tried:
Removed 1 ram at the time
Removed the GPU (used the built in one on the motherboard when I tried this)
Checked temps on HWmonitor all looks normal. 30-40 degrees on both GPU and CPU
Reinstalled windows 7 and formated the entire drive before that.
Check the volts on HWmonitor and it looks fine.
Ive done a Memtest over night with 0 errors.
Installed old and new drivers for everything.

Ive checked event viewer and it tells me nothing. Only that computer restarted faulty.

When I run a Furmark test it can sometimes run for hours until I press "space" and make the ring disapear then comeback then it restarts.

Hope someone has some clue of what is going on here.

Thank you very much

If there's a failure that forces restart, then the EVENTVWR will log it before the restart.
Look again for logs->system, scroll for errors

Thx for fast answer jobeard!

There is no errors before the error that says something like "system had an unexpected power off"

If it were software, there would be other log entries - - ergo must be hardware.

Check for
  • overtemp,
  • fans not running,
  • power supply.
btw; any chance of short-term power outage? Off and back on almost immediately?
(I run UPSs for all my stuff, including the expensive HDtv precisely for that possibility).
