Computer screen just goes black...

This started happening recently, but Ill be on my computer sometimes playing games, sometimes just talking to people on AIM, and then out of nowhere the screen goes black. I click and hit the keyboard but nothing happens, the power is still on, but my screen is black and I'm forced to restart my computer. The only way that I have found that works is this: I unplug all the cords and take off the case, then I take a small vacume and just vacum the motherboard and video card, and then it will work for about 1 week. 1 week later I have to do the same thing.. its getting annoying. I have a Radeon 9600, XP, Pent 4, 1 gig of RAM. The computers about 1 year old.
